We are Tony and Carol Avard and live in the semi rural village of Whitfield near Dover, Kent.
We were married in 1968 and had no idea then that apart from our four daughters, the majority of our lives would be taken over by a breed of dog that at that time was barely known in the U.K.
We have been involved with dobermanns since 1972 via owning, showing, breeding, training and just enjoying their company, they are truly affectionate, loyal and often funny companions. We love them.
Royal interest in our dobermanns.
Having had some wonderful dogs in that time we have tried to keep our breeding on lines that maintain the required "power and elegance" we both admire in the breed.
To us a true dobermann is an athlete that is just a pleasure to watch when moving, whether in a show ring or running free in fields etc.
We hope to maintain these qualities, allied with excellent temperaments, with our breeding as long as we are able.
Our Drava foundation bitch "Dana", Dobermoray Whirl'n Dervish,(pictured left) was a huge character with presence as anyone that saw her in the ring would know.
She held the U.K bitch record from 1998 until 2009 with 27 challenge certificates. We will always be proud of her achievement and along with others no longer with us, so sadly missed but always in our thoughts. Fond memories.
Although we only breed about two litters per year we still get excited when our pups show the quality we have worked and hoped for.
The lovely comments from owners who kindly keep in touch with their pups progress is another of the reasons it is so rewarding.
Thanks to all of you.
